Mark your calendars for the Seventh Charlotte County Medical Society Physicians’ Health Expo, which will be held on Wednesday, February 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. As in the past, the location is the beautiful Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center at 75 Taylor Street, Punta Gorda. One way physicians ensure our citizens have access to quality health care is through our annual health expo. This mega event is FREE and open to the public.

Joining in this event are our sponsors, Charlotte Regional Medical Center, Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Peace River Regional Medical Center, Clear Channel Radio, and Florida Weekly. Attendees can obtain free health screenings including blood sugars, C-pap, body composition, mini-eye exams, hearing tests and more. Physician lectures on various topics of medical interest, including pain management, sleep apnea, common hand problems, and heart and lung disease are ongoing all day, and are offered free.
This year the “Big Red Bus” will be on-site for those interested in donating blood. Charlotte County Fire & EMS will be represented as well. This event expands and improves every year. It is certain to again draw thousands of attendees and provide them with innovative medical information.

Physicians realize these tough economic times result in many patients postponing seeing their doctor, or for that, matter put off scheduling an appointment when a new problem arises. By attending this expo, you may very well save your life. One incidence comes to mind. A few years back one of the expo attendees’ had a carotid ultrasound and was advised to seek a specialist. As it turns out this patient was diagnosed with cancer and treatment was successful. This woman made it a point to come back the following year to thank us and to tell us that had it not been for our expo, she would not have had such a successful outcome.

Come to the one and only “TRUE” health fair in Charlotte County. Don’t’ miss your chance to see a physician – or for that matter – many…it just might save your life!
